Here is a checklist for preparing a successful listing.
Description
When you put an item online you have some basic questions to fill in on the submission form. There is a text box where you can write a description and add other relevant information. A good description should include something about the quality and usage history of the item and matters specific to the type of product that it is. The better the description, the more confident a potential buyer will be on bidding for an item. A set of dimensions (w x h x d) and weight are useful things to include.
Pricing
A low starting price will get attention for your product without necessarily restricting the final sale price. Popular items will usually attract plenty of bidders. The $1 category is very popular (and has a featured spot on the homepage), but you can set a higher starting price with a reserve that will prevent your item seller below your asking price -- it just might take a bit longer. You can also add a buy now option for users who want to grab the item immediately and don't mind paying what they think is a reasonable price (buy now only applies until the reserve is met).
Duration
The default auction period for general items is seven days. You can specify a shorter period if you prefer and have the item automatically relist at no additional cost if it doesn't sell at first. You may need to allow a bit of extra time before the right buyer visits the site.
Payment
You will need to specify a preferred payment method. Internet banking is an easy way to transfer money, but cash on collection might also work well.
Delivery and shipping time
You should consider the cost of delivery if you are going to check the deliver free to local buyer box and modify your price expectations accordingly. Packaging your item will also take time and money if you are going to deliver it. There is an option to indicate how quickly you can prepare an item for delivery.
Photos
Sharp and well lit pictures will help your sale in most cases. You can upload several images at no extra cost and select the gallery option so your product has the maximum exposure. Try photographing your item beside an object of recognisable size.
Features
A basic listing on FoxyHub is free, but there are several options available to lift the profile of your item. The most dramatic is the homepage listing. You can also add a framed image (gallery option), bold text, a coloured background, or a combination of the above.
No limits
You can list as many items as you like on FoxyHub.
